What is allergy testing?       SharonHCNH

An allergy is an inappropriate response by the body. We tend to think of allergies in terms of immediate reactions, such as hayfever and skin reactions, but there are various types of allergies which can give rise to either acute or chronic problems.

Most chronic conditions involve an allergic response, whether it is sensitivity to a particular food or drink, or intolerance of a chemical or other substance. Sensitivity to yeasts and candida is very common and undermines the effective functioning of the immune system.

Allergy testing involves checking reactions to a wide variety of bacteria, viruses, fungi, vaccinations, chemicals, dusts and foods-potential allergens we come into contact with on a daily basis. The role stress and trauma play in our lives cannot be underestimated. Very often these can be the “last straw”, our immune system gets overloaded and ill health or dis-ease can follow.

Allergy testing involves Kinesiology-muscle testing; test vials are brought close to the body and the muscle will test weak or strong in reaction to them.

Treatment involves a combination of homoeopathic desensitization, homeopathic or herbal remedies, flower remedies and nutritional and lifestyle advice

Hayfever for example is a common allergic condition. Treatment involves homoeopathic desensitisation to plant, grass, tree, rapeseed pollens as appropriate. A homoeopathic First Aid remedy is also recommended to help with symptoms.

Often underlying hayfever are inhalant allergies such as House Dust mite, car exhaust fumes or even washing powder, so it is worth having a full test done to identify these.

Nutrition

What we eat is very important for our health. It may be beneficial to cut back on or avoid certain foods for a period of time to enable the immune system to recover. Nutritional supplements might also help to bring the body back into balance. Any recommendations and detailed dietary advice will be given based on the test.

Examples of other common conditions that can be allergy linked are:

  • B.S and inflammatory bowel disorders
  • Migraines
  • Recurrent infections e.g. tonsillitis, ear problems, sinusitis
  • Asthma
  • Eczema and other skin conditions
  • E, fibromyalgia,
